Disagreement Over School Funding

According to The Guardian, Education Minister Jason Clare wants to make sure that students with disabilities get the same chances in school as other students. But there’s a disagreement between the government and the states about how much money schools should get. Jason Clare is saying that improving outcomes for students with disabilities should be a big part of any new agreement about school funding.

There’s been a study by Guardian Australia that showed that there are big differences in how much funding schools get for students with disabilities. Jason Clare wants to fix this by making sure that funding is tied to how well schools are helping these students. But there’s some pushback from the states about these new rules.

Calls for Increased Funding in Public Education

Furthermore, some politicians like Penny Allman-Payne from the Greens are saying that the government needs to do more and do it faster. They think that public schools should get more money, especially since the needs of students are getting more complicated. Allman-Payne says that without more money it’s hard for teachers to do their best and for schools to provide the extra help that students need.
