In Ocean County, New Jersey a trial is underway involving the alleged abuse and death of a 6-year-old boy by his father in 2021. Corey Micciolo died due to severe injuries which authorities say were caused by forceful impacts. The Stafford Township Police responded to Southern Ocean Medical Center following the discovery of Corey Micciolo’s deceased body. The community was deeply saddened by the tragic news and the details surrounding the young boy’s passing.
An investigation revealed that Corey suffered injuries while under the care of his father, Christopher Grego, on March 20, 2021. Allegations suggest that Gregor intentionally harmed the child. Despite the mother’s attempt to gain sole custody out of concern for Corey’s safety her efforts were unsuccessful.
During the trial, Assistant Ocean County Prosecutor Jamie Schron recounted the events leading to Corey’s death. Corey, who was healthy earlier in the day, lost consciousness in the afternoon while in his father’s care. Gregor allegedly subjected Corey to repeated falls on a treadmill as captured in surveillance footage obtained by investigators.
