But not all parts of these cities are bad. Some are nice and safe. It’s because New Jersey has a lot of people packed into one area. Asbury Park

Millville
While Millville may not boast the same notoriety as Camden for violent incidents it secures its position among New Jersey’s most dangerous cities due to its significant property crime rate, placing fifth statewide. Visitors to its parks are cautioned to safeguard their valuables and ensure their doors are locked as statistics reveal that approximately one in twenty-nine residents experienced property theft or damage.
Bridgeton
An hour’s drive south of Philadelphia leads to Bridgeton claiming the title of the state’s third most dangerous city. Despite its local zoo housing bears and tigers, the real threats lurk on its streets, with violent crimes ranking fifth in the state. Residents are urged to double-check their locks, as Bridgeton topped the charts for burglary rates in New Jersey in 2020, emphasizing the persistent challenges of safety faced by its inhabitants.
Atlantic City
Atlantic City, known for its casinos, beaches, and boardwalk, has a darker side as one of New Jersey’s riskiest cities. Despite its historical allure akin to “Boardwalk Empire,” it faces significant crime with residents having a 1 in 37 chance of property theft in 2020 highlighting the persistent risk of violence and crime beneath its surface.
Woodbury
Despite its quaint name, Woodbury nestled in the bustling Philadelphia metro area emerges as the state’s fifth most dangerous city. While violence isn’t the primary concern, the town faces a significant threat from property crime, ranking seventh in burglaries statewide. With its proximity to urban centers, residents are cautioned to remain vigilant against the persistent threat of theft and damage in this otherwise unassuming locale.
