This all happened in April 2023 when Martinez worked for the sheriff’s office. He arrested a woman who was in a car accident and thought she was driving drunk and recklessly. But instead of doing his job properly, he did something terrible to her in his patrol car after taking her to a hospital.

Martinez attempted to destroy video evidence of his misconduct captured in his patrol car, but was apprehended and arrested in September 2023. Facing severe charges, he risked a life sentence if found guilty at trial. Authorities condemned his actions, stressing that harming someone in custody is intolerable and that all individuals regardless of accusation merit respect.
