Colorado Senate Approves Income Tax Credits for Struggling Renters

Legislation Aims to Alleviate Housing Affordability Challenges

According to Fox 31, Colorado senators passed a bill to help Americans who rent homes and struggle with money. The bill gives income tax credits to renters with low or middle incomes. If you earn less than $75,000 by yourself or $150,000 with someone else you might get an income tax credit. This could help you pay less tax.

The senators say many renters in Colorado find it hard to pay rent and other bills. They want to help them afford their homes. The income tax credits could give renters some relief. The bill also helps Americans who get grants for rent or heating assistance. It wants to make sure they still get the full tax credit they qualify for.
