Philadelphia’s Turn The Key Program – Making Homeownership Accessible Without Perfect Credit
Turn The Key of How Philadelphia’s Initiative is Empowering Families to Achieve Homeownership Dreams
According to Audacy, Philadelphia wants more Americans to own homes, especially those who work hard but struggle to save money. They’re doing this through a program called Turn The Key. They’re having an event on May 8 at SEPTA headquarters to show Americans they don’t need a lot of money or perfect credit to buy a home in the city.
Angel Rodriguez, who helps run the Turn The Key program says it’s a big deal for families. Turn The Key helps them buy homes by giving them money and making monthly payments affordable. With the Turn The Key program families can get up to $95,000 in help and pay around $1,353 each month for a home that costs $280,000. It’s a good deal because it helps families save money and have a place to call their own. So far Turn The Key has helped lots of families buy homes and they plan to help even more. Rodriguez says they’ve approved over 700 homes and many more are being prepared. By focusing on Americans’ incomes instead of just their credit scores, Turn The Key is making homeownership possible for more Americans in Philadelphia.
