Mississippi’s Riskiest Places Crime Statistics
According to Southwest Journal, RoadMunchies a group that looks at safety just released info about the riskiest places in Mississippi for 2024. They checked crime data from 32 cities. They found that while Mississippi has more property crimes than the national average and about the same for violent crimes none of its cities made the top ten riskiest places cities in the country. But the report says these areas could do better with more jobs, higher pay, and programs to help people who break the law.

Top 3 Riskiest Places
Cleveland
In Cleveland, Mississippi, a small town with around 11,000 people crime is a big problem. It’s considered the riskiest place in the state because there are a lot of crimes happening there. Recently, there were over 670 property crimes and nearly 100 violent crimes reported. Even though Cleveland has nice things like the Grammy Museum a violent robbery at a local store has made people worried about their safety.
Natchez
Natchez, a town with a long history by the Mississippi River is facing some big crime issues. Even though it has a rich past the city is dealing with more robberies, assaults, and murders than before. A recent sad event where a local businessman was killed in his home, has made people scared. Police think it was a robbery that went wrong. Now, there are calls for more police and for everyone to watch out for each other.
Corinth
In Corinth, a town known for its history in the north of Mississippi, crime is a serious problem. Even though it has museums celebrating its past there are a lot of burglaries happening. Recently, a woman was killed during a break-in at her home and it has left everyone shocked and afraid. This sad event shows that Corinth needs to do more to stop crime and keep people safe.
