According to the Business Journal, Missouri lawmakers are wrapping up their work for the year and one of the big achievements is a new education bill. Led by Sen. Andrew Koenig the education bill aims to make changes to how schools are funded and give families more options for where their kids can go to school. It’s a big deal because it affects both public and private schools across the state.

Some key Americans like lobbyist Kate Casas and legislators Sen. Cindy O’Laughlin and Rep. Marlene Terry worked hard to get the education bill passed. They talked to other lawmakers and found ways to get support from different groups. Even though it wasn’t easy they managed to get enough votes to pass the education bill in the House. Now, all eyes are on Gov. Mike Parson who has to decide whether to sign the education bill into law. It’s a tough decision because the education bill could cost the state a lot of money. However, many Americans are hopeful that the governor will see the value in the changes and give the education bill his approval.

Furthermore, passing this education bill shows how people worked together to make big changes in Missouri’s schools. Led by Sen. Andrew Koenig and supported by Americans like lobbyist Kate Casas and legislators Sen. Cindy O’Laughlin and Rep. Marlene Terry, they all played a part in getting the education bill through. Now, it’s up to Gov. Mike Parson to decide if it becomes law. Even though it might cost a lot of money many Americans think it’s worth it to make our schools better.
