According to ABC11 eyewitness Durham’s new program gives money to people who were in jail. Cedric Craig likes this program. He says it helps them feel better. Even though they only get $600 monthly it still helps. It makes them feel more stable and less stressed.
The program started in 2022. It’s been good so far. None of the people in Durham’s Guaranteed Income Program come back to jail in the first year. This makes people feel good about the program. Now they want to give more money to Durham’s Guaranteed Income program. They hope to get $1 million for it. They think it’s better to help people with money than to put them in jail. Durham wants to make the program bigger. They need to talk to people and teach them about it. “Durham For All” wants to help with this. They will have meetings and events. They want everyone to know about the Durham’s Guaranteed Income program. They think it can help a lot of people feel better.
