Across the United States some cities are giving Americans money and houses to move there. In Tulsa, Oklahoma, they started doing this in 2018, according to the published article of Go Banking Rates. Since then over 2,900 Americans have moved there bringing lots of money to the city. In West Virginia they offer cash and free homes. Their program called Ascend has got over 42,500 applications.
Topeka, Kansas, is also giving money to Americans who move there and get a job. They’ve had over 6,000 Americans apply since 2019. In Alabama they’re giving money to remote workers who make a certain amount of money. Rochester, New York, has a program for remote workers and they give grants and help with buying a home to bring in new Americans. These cities want to attract new residents by offering them money and other benefits.
