California Film Commission Grants Record $152 Million in Tax Credits to Boost Television Production

In exciting news for California’s film industry, the California Film Commission (CFC) has just announced a whopping $152 million in tax credits for a dozen television projects. These projects including both new and relocating series are expected to inject around $1.1 billion into the state’s economy and provide job opportunities for thousands of local crew members and performers.

Among the notable recipients of these tax credits is Amazon MGM Studios Fallout, which is moving from New York to California for its second season. This move is set to make Fallout one of the largest contributors to the state’s Film and Television Tax Credit Program in history, with projected expenditures of approximately $153 million and employment for around 170 cast and crew members.

California Film Commission Supports Diverse Range of Compelling New Television Series

The lineup of new television series promises diverse and captivating content, including Amazon MGM Studios Untitled Task Force Series and 20th Television projects from executive producer Ryan Murphy such as Dr. Odyssey and Grotesquerie. Additionally, CBS Studios NCIS: Origins offers viewers a fascinating glimpse into the early career of Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs with narration by beloved franchise favorite Mark Harmon. With support from the California Film Commission these productions are set to bring their stories to life in the vibrant landscape of Los Angeles, highlighting the talent and resources of the local film community.
