Deadline Closes for North Dakota’s Primary Residence Credit, Offering Relief on Property Taxes
Over 137,000 Homeowners Apply Statewide as Grand Forks County Sees High Participation
According to KNOX RADIO, the chance to get money off property taxes in North Dakota, called the Primary Residence Credit has now ended. It was started by the 2023 government and gave up to $500 off 2024 property tax bills. Over 137,000 homeowners applied before the March 31st deadline, including 11,677 in Grand Forks County.

Government Boosts Homestead Property Tax Credit in North Dakota, Prompting Surge in Applications
The government also changed the Homestead Property Tax Credit raising the income limit to $70,000. Because of this Grand Forks saw a big increase in applications with around 1,000 homeowners seeking the credit. The government set aside $103,225,000 for the Primary Residence Credit and $43,500,000 for the Homestead Property Tax Credit showing they want to help homeowners in North Dakota.
