Shock and Sorrow in Washington, D.C. as Gun Violence Claims Life in Navy Yard
According to Metropolitan Police Washing D.C. early on Sunday something terrible happened in the Navy Yard area of Washington, D.C. Police rushed to a residential building after hearing reports of gunshots at 3:03 a.m. When they got there they found a 44-year-old man named Michael James Quander Jr., who had been shot and killed. It’s a sad and shocking situation for everyone involved.

Now the police are trying to figure out what happened. They’re working hard to understand the events that led to Quander’s death. The community is grieving and wants justice for Quander. The police are asking for help from anyone who might know something. They’re offering a big reward of up to $25,000 for information that helps catch whoever is gunshot victim’s killer. In the Navy Yard neighborhood people are coming together to support Quander’s family and to make sure those gunshot victim’s killer are held accountable. Everyone including the police and the community is asking for people to step forward with any information they might have about the gunshot victim’s killer. It’s a reminder of how important it is for everyone to work together to stop violence and keep our neighborhoods safe.
