Wright & Filipps, a prosthetics and medical device company, is paying out $2.9 million in a Data Breach Settlement Lawsuit
Anyone who received a letter from the Wright & Filipps company informing them that their data may have been compromised can be qualified for compensation in a Data Breach Settlement Lawsuit.
Top Class Actions reported stated that in January 2022 cyber-attack compromised patient names, birth dates, Social Security numbers, health insurance data, and other sensitive information.
Those who brought the Data Breach Settlement suit claimed that reasonable security measures could have prevented the leak. Wright & Filipps has not admitted any wrongdoing.
The deadline to file a claim for the money from Data Breach Settlement is May 8, 2024
Those who are eligible have three different options for ways they can be paid by the Data Breach settlement. The first is up to $5,000 in data-breach-related expenses.
This includes documented losses from identity theft, credit or attorney fees, and credit monitoring costs incurred on or after November 18, 2022, according to the Data Breach settlement website.
