The Center Square – Illinois lawmakers from both parties are proposing plans to help families with child care costs. Republican are pushing for tax credits to ease the financial burden on families. State Senator introduced Senate Bill to create a new tax credit to support preschool and child care expenses. Democratic Senator Celina Villanueva is advocating for extending eligibility periods for the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP). Hobbs stressed the importance of aligning eligibility periods with other funding sources like Preschool For All to provide stability for children during their crucial developmental years.
