Assistance is available through programs like VITA to aid eligible individuals in filing tax returns and accessing refunds.

IRS Enforcement and Assistance Programs Ensure Tax Return Compliance
The IRS is also cracking down on those who haven’t filed taxes especially high-income earners. They’re sending out letters to remind people to file tax returns. But for those still figuring out their 2023 taxes there’s the IRS’ “Free File” program offering free tax prep software for those making up to $78,000 a year. Taxpayer Assistance Centers are there to help with any tax issues too making it easier for Rhode Islanders to stay on top of their tax returns and get any refunds they’re owed.
