That’s money owed to around 27,500 folks who didn’t file their 2020 federal tax returns yet. On average each Americans could get about $932 back.
There are extra payments called COVID-era Recovery Rebate Credits that many Americans in North Carolina haven’t grabbed. As many as 175,000 Americans in the state could be eligible for these credits for 2020 and 2021. Even if you’re late there’s no punishment for getting your money back through a late-filed tax return. You’ve got until May 17 to claim any unclaimed 2020 federal refunds.
