Minnesota Governor’s Proposal Focuses on Key Areas for State Spending Boost

In Minnesota, Governor Tim Walz has put forward a new plan to spend an extra $226 million from the state’s budget. Even though Minnesota has a lot of extra money  about $3.7 billion  experts warn that spending too much could lead to money troubles later.

Governor Walz says his plan is careful and small because the state already agreed on a budget for two years in 2023. He wants to keep about $3.5 billion of the extra money safe. His plan includes helping children through child tax credit program, cleaning up water and supporting rural ambulance services.
