Online Filers with Direct Deposit Receive Refunds in 5-6 Weeks

According to The Oklahoma taxpayers in Oklahoma waiting for their state tax refunds will have different wait times based on how they filed and chose to get their tax refund. If you filed online and picked direct deposit you’ll likely get your money in five to six weeks. If you chose a debit card it might take six weeks. For those who mailed their taxes, it’ll take longer: ten to 12 weeks for direct deposit and 11 to 13 weeks for debit card refunds.

Tax Filing Tips and Deadlines for Oklahoma Residents

To file your Oklahoma state taxes for 2023, you need to fill out Form 511 online through Oklahoma’s Taxpayer Access Point. This site also lets you check your refund status and get help including setting up appointments at the Taxpayer Resource Center in Oklahoma City. Federal tax refunds usually arrive in less than 21 days if there are no mistakes on your return. You can track your federal refund with the IRS‘s tool and use Oklahoma’s Taxpayer Access Point to check your state refund. Remember both federal and Oklahoma state income tax returns are due by April 15, 2024. If you need more time you can request an extension with Form 4868 giving you six extra months. But be careful if you owe taxes and file late you might have to pay a penalty. Stay updated and use the available tools to make tax filing easier and reduce stress about getting your tax refund.
