Deadline Approaching for Low-Income Energy Assistance Program in Pitt County

NEWS 12 – As the deadline for the Low-Income Energy Assistance program in Pitt County, North Carolina approaches, officials are urging eligible families to submit their applications before Thursday, March 28. This program funded by the federal government, aims to aid low-income households with their heating costs by providing a one-time payment to qualified families.

Pitt County specifies that households with individuals aged 60 or older, as well as disabled persons receiving services through the N.C. Division of Aging and Adult Services are eligible for assistance. Eligible disabled persons include those receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Social Security Administration (SSA), or Veterans Administration (VA) disability benefits. To apply, applicants must provide various documents including identification, social security numbers for all household members.

Apply Now to Alleviate Winter Heating Costs with LIEAP Program in Pitt County

The LIEAP program in Pitt County operates on a first-come, first-served basis until all funds are depleted. With the deadline quickly approaching, eligible families are encouraged to take advantage of this program to alleviate their heating costs during the winter months.
