Sacramento County Launches Basic Income Program to Support Black and Native American Families
In Sacramento County, a new plan aims to help low-income Black and Native American families. The county will give them $725 every month with no conditions attached. This money is meant to assist families with their needs like buying food and paying for housing. The program is supported by United Way, which has worked with the county on similar projects before. They want to help families become more stable and reduce the number of children removed from their homes.
