It also saves money by not needing to follow certain affordable housing rules making it easier for owners to afford.

Some city council members like Tammy Morales and Robert Kettle like the idea. They think it could help more families and workers live in downtown. This plan comes after other efforts to make building homes faster showing the city is serious about fixing the housing problem.
