Balancing Act
Connecticut‘s top officials are unsure about creating a significant new tax credit this year. House Speaker Matt Ritter believes it’s challenging to match previous efforts which included giving families $250 per child and cutting tax credit by nearly $490 million last year. Despite a surplus, leaders are cautious, aiming to safeguard existing tax credit in case of economic challenges. With a shorter legislative session, finding the right balance between aiding families and ensuring financial stability is paramount.
