Nissan Leaf Electric Car Qualifies for $3,750 Federal Tax Credit in 2024

According to Auto blog, the Nissan Leaf electric car is making headlines again this time with a federal tax credit of $3,750 for 2024. This credit is available for those who meet specific purchase and income qualifications outlined in the IRS code Section 30D. To be eligible, the vehicle must be assembled in North America and meet certain requirements for critical minerals and battery components. Nissan’s Leaf model with its batteries assembled in Smyrna, Tenn., qualifies for this credit if purchased in 2024.

In addition to the tax credit, Nissan is offering a $3,750 incentive for leasing a 2023 or 2024 Leaf. There are two trim levels available for the 2024 Leaf: the base S starting at $29,235 and the SV starting at $37,285. The S model comes with a 40kWh battery pack offering a 149 mile range while the SV boasts a more powerful motor and a larger 60kWh battery pack providing 212 miles of range. To take advantage of these incentives prospective buyers must purchase a Leaf model built in 2024.
