According to WRWH, Ninth District Opportunity Inc. is helping older and sick people in White and other Ninth District areas with their home cooling bills. If everyone in a household is 65 or older or has health issues, they can apply for assistance starting April 1. The program gives a one-time payment to help with home energy bills. To qualify, your income matters.
When you apply you need to show proof of age for everyone in your home, income details for the last month, Social Security numbers, proof of citizenship, and your latest cooling bill. They say it’s important to bring all these documents because they can’t get this info for you. Appointments will continue to be scheduled until funding is depleted and no walk-ins will be accepted. Starting from April 1 only households with individuals aged 65 or older or those who are medically homebound are eligible to apply. Other individuals can submit their applications from May 1, 2024, beginning at 8:30 A.M. Ninth District Opportunity Inc. ensures equal treatment for all, offering services without discrimination based on age, race, religion, gender, or other factors.
