City Leaders Call for More Than $49 Million Federal Aid Funding Amidst Strained Resources and Migrant Crisis
Mayor Eric Adams and other city leaders want more than $49 million federal aid from Washington and Albany to deal with this crisis. Governor Kathy Hochul has promised $4.3 billion to help but it’s still not enough. Councilman Justin Brannan blames House Republicans for not giving more help saying it’s not fair for the city to handle this big problem on its own. Jacques Jiha says the city needs to reduce the number of migrants to ease the financial burden.
