Economic Security California Leads Partnership to Connect 3,000 Families to State and Federal Tax Credits
Outreach Efforts in Multiple Languages Ensure Easy Access to Tax Credit Assistance
According to LA Down Town News, a new program called the Claim Your Cash is making its way in Los Angeles County and offering assistance to low income residents in accessing unused tax credits. Headed by Economic Security California (ESCA) in partnership with the LA County CEO’s Office and other organizations the program aims to connect at least 3 000 families to state and federal tax credits. Monica Lazo the program director explained that the initiative targets individuals already receiving county services offering them additional benefits they may not have been aware of.
The officials saw that a lot of tax credits were not being used in LA County especially by people who really need them. Monica Lazo talked about how imprtant it is to help families who are living paycheck to paycheck and having trouble with everyday costs. The program is meant to be easy to use with information available in different languages and on different platforms and it can help families save a lot of money with tax credits they might not have known about before.

Simplifying Tax Credit Claiming Process for Easy Access to Financial Assistance
Even though it is a new idea, the Claim Your Cash program is already helping low income people get the money they need. Monica Lazo explained that the program wants to make taxes easier for families and help them get the tax credits they should have. It plans to keep helping people even after tax season is over and hopes to help more people in other places too.
