Investigation Spanning Two Years Leads to Genetic Genealogy Breakthrough in Rabon Case
South Carolina Solicitor Jimmy Richardson Announces Verdict in Brutal Murder Case
According to True Crime Daily, Samantha Rabon has been sentenced to life in prison for her role in the 2018 murders of her father Robert Ford and half brother Robbie Ford. South Carolina Solicitor Jimmy Richardson announced the sentence following Rabon’s conviction on two counts of murder and among other charges. Rabon’s involvement in the murder for hire plot was uncovered after a two year investigation during which witnesses testified to her offering money for the killings. Rabon faces spending the remaining of her life behind bars for the crimes she committed.
The victims Robert and Robbie Ford were found dead in the yard of their home in Horry County, South Carolina with gunshot wounds. Investigations revealed they had been killed the day before the discovery of their bodies. The case took two years to investigate before Rabon was identified as a suspect using genetic genealogy. Testimonies from witnesses including Rabon’s cousin Teresa Martin, implicated Rabon in a murder for hire plot to inherit her father’s money.

Cousin’s Confession Seals Rabon’s Fate
Rabon’s cousin Martin confessed that Rabon offered $20,000 to Randy Grainger to carry out the murders. Despite the defense’s argument implicating Rabon’s mother in the plot, Rabon was convicted and sentenced for her role in the heinous crimes. The prosecution labeled the murders as among the most heinous they had encountered emphasizing the motive of greed driving Rabon’s actions.
