Covington Police Arrest Two Teenagers for Setting Law Firm on Fire
Covington Police Department has arrested and charged two teenagers who they say set a law firm on fire. The incident occurred on February 29, when the Covington Fire Department responded to a 911 call at Wooten Law Firm on Court Square East.
Upon arrival, fire department staff found smoke throughout the business and attempted to locate the source of the fire. They eventually discovered that the inner stuffing of a couch in the basement was on fire.
Fortunately, the fire was extinguished quickly with minimal damage to the building, and no one was injured. The owners are currently working with the Fire Department and Detectives to assess the building, smoke damage, and structure to determine the extent of the damage.
However, during the on-scene investigation, it was revealed that the fire was intentionally set. Covington Police officers on the scene began receiving anonymous tips that gave the officers a clothing description of two possible suspects.
Following an investigation, the Covington Police Department arrested two teenagers, whose identities have not been released, for setting the law firm on fire. They have been charged with arson and are currently in custody.
The incident has shocked the local community, as the Wooten Law Firm has been a staple of the Covington community for many years. It is not yet clear what the motive for the arson was, but the investigation is ongoing.
This is a developing story; we will provide updates as more information becomes available.
