According to Newsweek, Vanessa Vallon, a 36-year-old from Louisiana, hoped that a recent increase in Social Security payments would help Vanessa with money problems but things got worse instead. The reality proved harsher as Vanessa faced SNAP loss, plunging from $291 to a mere $23 monthly. Vanessa relies on these payments because she hurt her back and can’t work. Even though the government raised her payments, she got less help with food and healthcare.
