Westchester Construction Boss Faces Charges in Fatal Accident
In Westchester County, a construction boss named Michael Conway is in trouble. A worker named Jose Vega died when a deep hole collapsed at a building site in Mamaroneck in May 2021. The boss didn’t do enough to keep Vega safe so now he’s facing serious charges. This is the first time something like this has happened in Westchester. They say it’s important to make sure bosses follow safety rules. Many workers especially those from other countries worry about working in dangerous places. They feel like they have to work even if it’s not safe. Officials want to make sure everyone at work is protected – CBS News reported.

Construction Boss Released as Investigation Pursues Truth
The boss’s lawyer says it was just an accident. He says Conway might not have been the one in charge that day. Conway got released from jail after paying some money. But the case isn’t over yet. Investigators are still looking into the accident to find out what happened and who is responsible. They’re checking records, talking to witnesses, and gathering evidence to understand the situation better and ensure it doesn’t occur again.
