New Carlisle tops the list as the worst place to live in Ohio. With a population of just over 5,500, this small town has an unemployment rate of 17.1% and a crime rate of 0.0573 per capita. The average home price is steep at $218,232, and the median income is $56,744.
2. Trotwood
Trotwood is second on the list due to its high unemployment rate of 8.4% and a crime rate of 0.0383 per capita. The average home price is lower than New Carlisle at $115,023, but the median income is also lower at $46,442.
3. Youngstown
Youngstown is Ohio’s third-worst place to live, with a population of over 60,000. The city has an unemployment rate of 13.2% and a crime rate of 0.0355 per capita. The average home price is the lowest at $52,826, and the median income is the lowest at $34,295.
4. Wellston
