Maureen Mauzenko was found dead in the 200 block of East Maple Avenue after her son stabbed her in her neck.
On February 14, Wednesday, before 8. am. The Allegheny County Police Department officers found Joshua Leyo, who jumped on the second floor of a parking garage. Leyo, who was in the garage, was seeking medical help and was transported to the local hospital because of massive injuries.
Later that day, shortly after 1:40 p.m., officers found Maureen Mauzenko’s dead body, entire of stabs in the neck. The police officials found out that the main suspect in this brutal killing of Maureen Mauzenko was his son Leyo. After the suspect killed his mother, he accessed the bank account of the victim. He used it for Uber to Pittsburgh and purchased other things.
Allegheny County Police told Altoona Police that Leyo suffered severe injuries after jumping at the second-floor garage at Pittsburgh International Airport. He also admitted that he argued with her mother after he fatally stabbed his mother in the neck. Leyo is still in police custody at the hospital, where he continues healing. The police officials said that Leyo would be deported back to Blair County and charged him with first-degree murder.
