Unaware of the danger lurking, Chad remained in his work truck for a brief phone call before entering the shop. Within minutes, disaster struck as the thief smashed his window and swiftly grabbed the hidden Tiffany’s bag containing the precious gift. Chad was left stunned, realizing he had been followed and targeted for his purchase.

Lt. Keith Gomez of the Pasadena police acknowledged the unfortunate reality of such crimes, noting that incidents where individuals are followed after making high-value purchases, such as jewelry or withdrawing cash, are not uncommon. The modus operandi of the criminals typically involves trailing their victims until they reach a secluded location, where they then strike and steal the recently acquired goods.
