In a recent development, attorneys representing a co-defendant of former President Donald Trump have accused Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis of dishonesty regarding her relationship with prosecutor Nathan Wade. Allegations of Misrepresentation

In the filing submitted on Friday, attorneys for Michael Roman, Trump co-defendant, asserted that Fani Willis misled the court about the inception of her relationship with Nathan Wade. They cited a witness who contradicts Willis’s claims that her connection with Wade began after appointing him as a special prosecutor in the investigation of Trump’s actions following the 2020 election in Georgia

The document highlights discrepancies between the accounts Willis and the witness provided regarding the timeline and nature of the relationship.

The allegations center on the assertion that the romantic involvement between Willis and Wade commenced before Willis assumed her role as district attorney for Fulton County in January 2021. Additionally, the filing disclosed previously undisclosed trips taken by the pair, including a Bahamas cruise in December 2022 and a trip to Belize in March 2023, raising further questions about the extent of their relationship.

Financial Implications and Denials

Michael Roman’s attorneys also claimed financial issues, citing special prosecutor hourly costs. Nathan Wade reportedly earned $250 an hour, while another expert in the case earned $200. According to Daily Caller News Foundation documents, Wade got nearly $650,000 in fees for participating in the case, raising concerns about financial gain and conflicts of interest.

Fani Willis denies preferential treatment and financial impropriety. Her detractors say her incendiary comments and apparent contradictions about her relationship with Nathan Wade merit more investigation.

In light of these developments, Roman’s legal team has requested an evidentiary hearing to address the allegations of misrepresentation and potential conflicts of interest surrounding the case.
