$2,500 EV Rebates Unveiled
Minnesota residents who buy new electric or hybrid cars can get $2,500 EV rebates in state incentives. Used electric car buyers can still get $600 incentives. Minnesota-titled automobiles purchased or leased after May 25, 2023, are eligible for these incentives.
To qualify for the state program, new automobiles must have a base MSRP of $55,000 or less, and used vehicles must cost no more than $25,000. The Minnesota Department of Commerce website opens rebate applications on Wednesday, February 7th, at 10 a.m.
The good news continues. The state rebate program supplements federal tax benefits for new and used electric vehicles. The incentives for green mobility are strong, with federal tax credits of up to $7,500 for new EVs $4,000 for used vehicles, and a 30% tax credit for home charger installation expenses (limited at $1,000).

Details on Minnesota’s Rebate Distribution
Rebate applicants might expect delayed payments since each application is carefully reviewed to maintain program integrity. The state has earmarked $10.6 million for fiscal year 2024 and $5.2 million for fiscal year 2025 to provide refunds, although the timetable is unknown. Distribution ends June 30, 2027, or when money runs out.
Minnesota’s aggressive incentives for eco-friendly vehicle choices urge citizens to take advantage of this chance to help create a greener, more sustainable future while earning large financial rewards.
