WHAT WAS THE MOVIE ALL ABOUT?
In 2012, after moving to Omaha, Nebraska, Kroupa, who had recently become single, joined the online dating site Plenty of Fish. Soon, he received a message from a local woman named Shanna “Liz” Golyar, and they hit it off. Their romance was not serious, as Kroupa had recently ended a long-term relationship with Amy Flora, with whom he had two children. Later, Kroupa met Cari Farver, who lived an hour away in Macedonia, Iowa. They began to date casually.
One night, Kroupa had Farver over at his apartment. Golyar appeared unexpectedly, saying she needed to retrieve something from Kroupa’s apartment. Kroupa explained the situation to Farver, who decided to leave so that Golyar could enter. However, according to Kroupa, the two women only made eye contact briefly as Farver passed Golyar on her way out. And that was seemingly that.
By that time, he had received a threatening message. And the suspense of the story started.
