Shoplifting in Walmart: Waterbury Man Arrested for Carrying BB Handgun
The possession of a BB handgun inside a Walmart in Wallingford led to the arrest of a 48-year-old man from Waterbury, Connecticut (WFSB).
According to the police, they responded to the shoplifting in Walmart, located at 844 North Colony Road, after receiving a call from a customer who reported that numerous individuals in the business had burglarized products the previous evening.
During the call, the caller notified the police that the suspects, who consisted of two ladies and a guy, had been involved the shoplifting in Walmart before and tried to shoplift again.
A police press statement states that the three individuals were apprehended by authorities while they were exiting the store; no further issues were reported.

Edgar Rivera, who was at the time, was found to be carrying a black BB handgun in his vest pocket. This was discovered by the authorities. It was intended for the weapon to have the appearance of a genuine pistol.
In addition to being charged with carrying a dangerous weapon, he was also required to post a surety bond of fifteen thousand dollars before being released from jail.
The three individuals who were under suspicion were found to have abandoned their shopping cart, which contained items that had not been paid for, close to a register.
Law enforcement officials are currently investigating the shoplifting incident that took place throughout the night.
