Paul Vallas Gets $10,500 Fine for Breaking Campaign Rules in Chicago Mayoral Race.
Vallas was fined $10,000 for campaign violations.
According to Smart News, the Chicago Board of Ethics determined in November that mayoral candidate Paul Vallas breached the rules by accepting a $5,000 gift instead of the $1,500 permitted. Vallas declined to return the $3,500 when they offered to correct it. Vallas was fined $10,500 by the ethics board this month. Three times the additional money he stole.

Mayor took money from the incorrect person.
Mayor Brandon Johnson is also under investigation for giving his campaign money from a lawyer, which is illegal. Unauthorized lobbyists and others can’t give mayors money. So far, so good.
