The US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and FBI released an advisory warning organizations about Chinese aerial drones.
PRC Legislation Sparks Concerns Over Data Security
The advice raises worries about PRC legislation that allows the government to access and manage company data.
CISA warned that using Beijing’s unmanned aerial system (UAS) goods in the US might disclose sensitive data to PRC authorities, endangering national, economic, and public health and safety.
The advice also warned against using China-made drones without cybersecurity. US networks may be vulnerable to flaws and sensitive data being exploited. CISA’s David Mussington noted that critical infrastructure sectors increasingly use UAS for missions, improving operational efficiency and crew safety. However the Chinese-made UAS raises worries about exposing essential data.

CISA Urges Use of Secure US Drones
CISA advised critical infrastructure operators to use “secure by design” drones from US industry partners to reduce these threats.
The advice raised awareness of China’s aggressive cyber activities and stressed the significance of updating recommendations and improving critical infrastructure security and resilience. Mussington underlined the need for collaboration to protect critical infrastructure and resist China’s cyber attacks.
