After a jury found him guilty of assault and harassment against his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari last month, actor Jonathan Majors told ABC News he intended to appeal.
Shock at Verdict, Impact on Personal Life, and Regret Over Crucial Mistakes
The actor was shocked and afraid by the verdict, which he didn’t understand based on the prosecution’s case. Marvel Studios dropped Majors after his conviction, and he disclosed that the case stopped him from seeing his daughter and described it as a major setback in his life.
Jabbari’s fractured and bruised finger and lacerations behind her ear were discussed by Majors in the interview, which aired Monday night. Majors requested clarification on how the injuries occurred. He claimed Jabbari was on top of him, pinched his face, and smacked him.
The actor, visibly distressed during the interview, regarded picking Jabbari up in the automobile where the conflict occurred as one of his biggest faults and trying to keep her in the car as his second largest mistake.

Sharing Untold Experience and Defending Against Lack of Contrition Claims
Majors wants to tell his experience to heal after not testifying in the trial. When asked about the jury’s reckless assault decision, Majors said he was irresponsible with Jabbari’s heart, not her body. Jabbari’s attorneys denied Majors’ assertions, saying his latest words showed a lack of contrition for his crimes.
This lack of contrition should be weighed when sentencing him, they said. Last March, the actor was arrested for strangulation, assault, and harassment after Jabbari’s charges. A recent jury ruling convicted Majors of reckless assault and harassment but acquitted him of second assault and aggravated harassment, indicating that Majors did not mean to assault Jabbari but harassed her and acted recklessly.
