January SNAP Payments in New Mexico, Worth a Maximum of $1,751, Set to Conclude in 15 Days

New Mexico’s SNAP program is distributing January benefits up to $1,751.

New Mexico SNAP Payments: Distribution Details and Maximum Benefits

SNAP payments are provided to low-income New Mexico households from 1 to 20 of each month. Social Security number’s last two digits determine the distribution day.

Benefits were set for Monday for Social Security numbers ending 11, 31, 51, 71, or 91 and Friday for those ending 13, 33, 53, 73, or 93. Households ending in 00, 20, 40, 60, or 80 receive benefits on the 20th.

The maximum SNAP payment depends on household size. One-person households can earn $291, five-person households $1,155, and eight-person households $1,751. An additional $219 is applied for each family member beyond eight.

SNAP in New Mexico: Eligible Purchases and Application Process

SNAP beneficiaries can use an electronic benefits transfer card to buy eligible fruits, vegetables, bread, meat, poultry, and drinks at grocery stores. Pet food, alcohol, paper, and soap are not eligible for SNAP assistance.

SNAP applications in New Mexico are made through the YesNM self-service eligibility portal. SNAP, Medicaid, and Low-Income Heating and Energy Assistance Program applications are processed through this portal. Applicants can follow their submissions online or call 1-800-283-4465.
