Unveiling Legal Failures and Targeted Attacks
Biden spoke ahead of the third anniversary of the January 6th assault on the U.S. Capitol, which he called a violent effort to reverse a free and fair election.
Biden said that 81 million people voted for him, defeating Trump by 7 million. He highlighted that Trump lost 60 legal lawsuits, including before Republican-controlled states and the Supreme legal, over his 2020 election claims.
The president noted that Atlanta election workers Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss were threatened and racially abused. Rudy Giuliani, Trump’s lawyer, was fined $148 million for cruelty and slander against these authorities, Biden said. Fox News also paid a record $787 million for voting fraud falsehoods.

Denouncing Trump’s Role and Stance on Political Violence
Biden said that Trump began the January 6th violence in desperation after losing the election. The president chastised Trump for not condemning political violence, noting that democracy forbids it. Biden attacked Trump and his followers for embracing and joking about political violence, recalling a rally where Trump suggested Nancy Pelosi assault.
Biden called Trump’s political violence deplorable. He voiced shock and displeasure, saying such words are inappropriate for a president and anybody else. The president decided that political violence is never appropriate in the US and distinguished between pro-insurrectionist and pro-American.
