A guy and his girlfriend from Las Vegas were arrested after a purposeful and premeditated assault on a homeless encampment in Las Vegas, killing two and injuring three.
Las Vegas Shooting Suspects Arrested in Homeless Encampment Attack
Cristobal Perez, 31, and Kylee Au Young, 21, were the suspects at Sandhill Road and Charleston Boulevard on December 1, 2023.
At 5:34 p.m., the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reported five males shot at the campground. One victim died upon arrival at the hospital, while another died subsequently. Police suspect Perez and Au Young premeditated the shooting after a dispute between one of Perez’s relatives and a homeless encampment resident.
Lieutenant Jason Johannsen told reporters Perez scheduled the attack. After being dropped off in an area north of the murder site, Perez waited for a black SUV and strolled approached the victims in the encampment. He started shooting at their campmates indiscriminately. Au Young was at the ready in another car to help escape. Police are searching for another suspect.

Charges Filed Against Las Vegas Shooting Suspects as Police Seek Information
Two counts of open murder and three attempted murder are against Perez. Au Young faces two open murder charges and a conspiracy charge. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is requesting information about the attack for its investigation.
This tragedy further raises concerns about homeless encampment residents’ vulnerability to violence. Police continue to investigate the crime and seek justice for the victims, urging the community to provide any pertinent information.
