The application for the tax rebate program is now open and many local older residents are aiming to cut down their burden of property taxes.
City of Topeka Alerts Residents of Tax Rebate Program Opening
According to KSNT, a new property tax rebate program has alerted the Topeka local older residents who aim to cut down on the burden of property tax.
The City of Topeka unveiled its agendas for the tax rebate program earlier this week, following a slight delay. The objectives of the program are mostly aimed at helping older residents aged 65 and older.
Tax Rebate Program Allows Residents to Property Tax Rebate
According to WIBW, the City of Topeka noted that the tax rebate program allows for a refund, as part of the property taxes paid on the resident’s home. The tax rebate will come from and cannot exceed the property tax amount that was originally paid.
However, the officials of the city have noted that the tax rebate programs are not available for the renters.
