Laredo Port of Entry CBP officers arrested a man on a felony warrant for intoxicated manslaughter.
CBP Officers Apprehend Fugitive for Manslaughter Following Secondary Inspection
As part of its commitment to public safety and law enforcement, Port Director Alberto Flores stressed CBP’s responsibility in helping law enforcement partners hold warrant violators. At the Juarez-Lincoln Bridge on January 2, CBP officials submitted 59-year-old U.S. citizen Francisco Morales for a secondary examination.
Biometric verification and federal law enforcement databases were used to verify Morales’s identity during the secondary test. They found an Ellis County Sheriff’s Office in Waxahachie, Texas, felony arrest warrant for drunken manslaughter with a car. After arresting Morales, CBP officers escorted him to Webb County jail for further proceedings.
This arrest was made possible by warrant information from the National Crime Information Center (NCIC), a centralized computerized database. The NCIC supports law enforcement information exchange and covers a wide range of offenses. NCIC has helped CBP agents arrest suspects for homicide, escape, money laundering, robbery, drug distribution, sexual child abuse, fraud, theft, and military desertion.
