Las Vegas seniors eligible for utility tax rebate in 2023, easing financial burden on local utilities.
According to Smart News, Las Vegas is giving a helping hand to seniors with money troubles. The city has a special program to give back some money seniors paid in utility taxes. If you’re 60 or older, you might get a refund on the taxes you paid for electricity, phone, and gas in 2023.
How to Apply and Who Qualifies
To get this help, you must be 60 or older and make less than $16,500 a year (or less than $18,900 for married couples or those leading a household). If you own a home and qualify, you can also ask for a discount on your yearly sewer bill. But remember, you can’t apply online. You need to call and set up a meeting at specific places like Centennial Hills Active Adult Center, Doolittle Community Center, Dula Community Center, East Las Vegas Community Center, or Howard Lieburn Senior Center.
