According to The US Sun, there are three requirements that you need to meet so you can apply for your share of the $20 million pot – and get this, it is easier to understand than what people assumed.
The first eligibility criterion for the guaranteed income program is that you must be a resident of the following ten high-poverty zip codes:
- 77091
- 77547
- 77081
- 77050
- 77093
- 77051
- 77026
- 77033
- 77028
- 77060
The second criterion for the guaranteed income program is that your income must fall below $200% of the Federal Poverty Line for your household size. Lastly, you must be 18 years old or older to be eligible.
Other Guaranteed Income Programs
Harris County is not the only one with a guaranteed income program.
In Colorado, The Healthy Beginnings Project will also distribute payments as a guaranteed income program which is $750 a month. Though this is indeed helpful, the residents also need to meet certain criteria to be eligible for the program.
The recipients in Colorado have already gotten their first payment from the guaranteed income program in November 2023, and these will continue until 2025.
