A man’s stolen box truck sparked a frantic pursuit through Staten Island, resulting in two NYPD officers being hospitalized and around 24 cars being damaged. The chaos unfolded after the 48-year-old driver, alleged to have been involved in multiple carjacking incidents, initiated a high-speed chase, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake.
Intense Pursuit Grips Staten Island
The high-stakes chase commenced at 5:15 p.m. when law enforcement identified the stolen WB Mason delivery truck at the Richmond neighborhood’s Bishop Street and Cranford Avenue intersection. The truck had been reported stolen from New Jersey following earlier carjacking incidents.
During the pursuit, the driver of the stolen truck deliberately rammed it into three patrol cars, dragging one roughly 40 feet and causing significant damage. The situation further intensified as the suspect continued driving recklessly, leaving a trail of destruction and chaos.
Despite efforts to bring the pursuit to a halt, the suspect continued to evade capture, allegedly engaging in a spree of car thefts, ultimately culminating in a standoff that led to his arrest.

Ongoing Investigations and Safety Concerns
As the investigation unfolds, the driver is facing pending charges for numerous alleged crimes across both Staten Island and New Jersey, including multiple car thefts.
Despite the turbulence of the pursuit, officers successfully managed to apprehend the suspect, although he now faces a series of charges arising from the dramatic sequence of events.
