According to Marca Finance News, states are helping people with money to ease economic challenges. Alabama is giving a $150 refund per person to those who filed taxes by October 17, 2022. Georgia has a law (HB 2023) giving a tax refund to people who filed in 2021 and 2022. If you were affected by Hurricane Idalia in Georgia, you can get $250 until February 15, 2024.

Montana will give tax refunds on December 31, 2023, up to $1250 for individuals and $2500 for married couples. Washington has a Working Families Tax Credit until December 31, offering $300 to $1200. In New Mexico, you can claim $500 (or $1000 for couples) until May 31, 2024, based on your tax return. If you filed in November, check online in December for the money.
